It's been a while since I have been as impressed with a meal out as I was this evening. We joined friends at the Notrh End at their suggestion. We were seated promptly as we had reservations. The menu, although not extensive, its quite varied. There were several specials to choose from, including a couple left over from Valentine's Day. They have a very extensive wine selection. We started out with a lovely bottle of South African pinotage, which was ridiculously tasty and reasonably priced. We ordered the "cheese addiction" appetizer. It was a generous, helping of house made cheese spread featuring a blend of cheeses, scallions, red onions, etc. It was served in a Parmesan crisp bowl along with some honey wheat crackers. Very tasty and we all enjoyed it. Twp of us ordered the chicken piccata, one the short ribs with gnocchi, and I ordered the Wagyu burger with pierogies. I rarely order a burger, unless I think it's going to be something special. I'm glad I ordered one tonight. The brioche bun was toasted to perfection and the medium temperature patty was tender and delicious and topped with cheddar cheese and two hearty strips of bacon. There was a very light aïoli on the top bun and it required nothing else. The chicken piccata and short ribs were raved about. We ordered a second bottle of wine, this time a Tuscan red, and enjoyed brownies with ice cream and flan for dessert. Both desserts were excellent and the flan reminded me of my mother's. The waitress apologized as we had asked if there were more bottles of the pinotage to buy to take home and we drank the last one. She did take our name and number and said she would call as soon as they got some more in. The owner stopped by our table to visit with our friends who are repeat customers. She was very friendly and pleased that we were enjoying ourselves. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and welcoming. Although not large on the inside it accommodates probably 40 people between the table area and the bar. After we left my wife and I mentioned to each other that we would like to come back as soon as possible and make it a regular night out. It was fabulous evening out with friends from start to finish.

Why oh why did it take me so long to dine at this local gem. My husband and I were driving home from Hudson Springs Park the other week and noticed this wine bar/restaurant and how it's a mere 5 minutes from our house. My husband peeked his head inside and told me we definitely had to try it and it seemed like, "our vibe" (that's what the kids are saying nowadays right??). Anyways, we made a reservation and went the following Friday. When you walk in there's a high top bar area with some built-ins for beer and wine a few TVs on the wall. We were greeted immediately by a kind hostess and showed to our seats. The seating as you walk thru is surrounded by a lovely supply of wine you can purchase to take home or sip on there. Once seated we each ordered a glass of wine, I went with an unoaked Chardonnay to pair with the chicken piccata and my husband decided to forgo wine rules and had a glass of red (I can't remember which one, but he loved it) with the chicken piccata as well which was DIVINE. If there aren't capers it's not real chicken piccata, but this dish had capers and was the perfect portion. So delicious. Before we headed out we of course bought a few bottles of wine to go, 10% off 6 bottles so why not and every bottle was very reasonably priced. Overall we LOVED this place and already can't wait to go back. Ambiance, service attentiveness, food, wine, everything was 5 stars. Definitely a must try if you've never been.

My husband and I loved this place!!! Awesome spot for a quiet and intimate date night. The food is superb. We really loved that you could pick a bottle of wine from their massive retail selection for a small corkage fee. That way if we couldn't finish it could be recorked and brought home (not that we had that issue lol). Our waitress was delightful and we ended up with an amazing bottle of wine based on her recommendation. I gave her really broad details on what I was looking for and she delivered with a perfect bottle for the evening. She was knowledgeable on the food menu and the wine selections. We will definitely come back!

There's two sides to this restaurant, one is a tap room and the other is seated restaurant. They both offer the same menus. I like the retail aspect of the business that you can buy a bottle of wine off the shelf and pay a corking fee. The food menu isn't large and the descriptions on the menu did not match my expectations once our food was brought out. It's not really clear if they are trying to offer a casual experience or something more the way all the offerings bounce around.

We are so thankful that this favorite has survived the Covid pandemic. Tables are exceptionally well spaced. Wait staff is thoughtful on distancing. Food was as fabulous as ever, and the wine and beer selections are incomparable. We were thrilled to be able to select some moderately priced wines to take home and appreciated the 10% cases discount.

We were looking for a date night spot after a soccer game in Hudson on Saturday. Most of downtown Hudson was booked, so we checked Yelp for suggestions and found North End. I'm very glad that we did! North End is a wine bar and restaurant that also has more traditional bar area. We sat in the wine bar/restaurant area. It was fairly busy, so it is a good idea to call ahead on the weekends. I did notice the manager, who was very nice, tried her best to accomodate all of the walk-ins. In addition to the wine, they have a very good selection of beers. This was a huge plus for me as quite a few wine bars that we have visited offer limited beers/other drinks. The food was outstanding! I have to confess that we didn't try a large portion of the menu as both my wife and I went with the shrimp and scallops risotto main dish. It was absolutely delicious. We both ate every bite - and usually my wife leaves leftovers for me.. not this time! : ( From what I understand, the traditional bar area focuses on bar food separate from the main menu found in the wine bar/restaurant area, but I'm not 100% certain. Also, due to staff shortages, they are closed Sunday, Monday, and possibly Tuesday. Call ahead to be sure. We will definitely be back to North End!! A warm, cosy date night or group gathering spot with great drinks and delicious food. See you all again soon!
